Most academic websites aim to provide a professional web presence, increase reputation, enable academic networking, promote work and accomplishments, and drive sales of books. Are there any other goals you have for this site (e.g., freelance services) or is there one goal you want to particularly emphasize?
In addition to an academic audience in your field, what, if any, other target audiences do you want to reach? E.g., Reporters, trade book audiences, search committees, recruiters. (Your target audiences might shape the approach to SEO).
